The United State diplomatic mission in Cuba (didn’t know there was one) has a unique Christmas display in sad, sad nation that is Cuba. On the roof of the building is a display with hundreds of lights, a Santa Claus and #75. Why 75? Because that is the number of political prisoners that have been newly incarcerated in 2004 in Cuba.

James Cason is the mission-chief in Cuba and has performed similar actions lately. He has built a small shed in the back of the mission to represent the type of accomadations that these 75 new prisoners can expect to have.

I am frankly surprised at this. Whoever James Cason is, he deserves a raise for this act alone. There is something wonderful about celebrating a season where the light of the world came and rembering those in prison for unjust crimes. To see this display, click here
